Rev. Dormetria is the third generation of preachers in her family. God has blessed her to do a wide variety of things in ministry. She has done mission work in the United States and Kenya, help plant a church, developed and implemented youth, young adult, and dance ministries, preached and facilitated at revivals, conferences, and retreats. Additionally, her scholastic article entitled “Nannie Helen Burroughs: The Trailblazer” was published in the June 2004 edition of the American Baptist Historical Society American Baptist Quarterly. The American Baptist Quarterly can be found in libraries at seminaries and universities. Rev. Dormetria was first licensed to preach the gospel at First Rock Baptist Church (located in Washington, DC) in 2000, and again at Omega Baptist Church in 2014. She was ordained an American Baptist Minister in 2015 and currently serves as an associate minister at Omega Baptist Church, located in Dayton, Ohio.
