Who is Dormetria Robinson Thompson?
Dormetria Robinson Thompson is from the Washington, DC area and has lived in Dayton since October of 2009. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre from Howard University and Master’s degree in Divinity (cum laude) from Wesley Theological Seminary. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Throughout her undergraduate and graduate educational journey she has served as a student government leader, advocate, artist, servant leader, and community engager.
As a member of Howard's Gospel Choir she sang at The Honorable Thurgood Marshall's Funeral at the historic National Cathedral. She also performed a dance solo for Dorothy Height at the National Council of Negro Women National Convention.
Dormetria has performed professionally extensively in regional theatre, national tours, internationally, as well as some tv/video work (including a speaking role in an episode of "Homicide: Life on the Street").
